70.3 Austin, TX
Two weeks after Ironman Hawaii, 4th place
finisher Tereza Macel was at it again. She exited the water shortly
after Joanna Zeiger - who dominated this 70.3 race and won - but
wasn't able to hold on, finishing the Half Ironman race in 5th. In
the pro men's race familiar SLS3 faces Fraser Cartmell and Brent
Poulsen had respectable races, finishing 11th and 12th respectively.
Next up for them: 70.3 Worlds.

It was a very hot day in
Kona, and the athletes had their work cut out for them.
Once
again, SLS3 had the highest top ten finish: Tereza
Macel finished 4th in the women's pro field.
The heat
took its toll on most athletes. One man fought through not only heat
but agonizing leg pain. Ain-Alar Juhanson worked his way through the
marathon by icing down his IT band for 25km and walking - quitting
was not an option for the tough Estonian.

Philip Ospaly had a great race at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles
triathlon. He placed third in this pro packed event in downtown
L.A.

3 Top Ten finishes in Wisconsin
Konstantin Bachor shined at IM Wisconsin where he
placed fourth, a mere 8 minutes behind winner Raynard Tissink. Not
surprisingly, Petr Vabrousek had a top ten finish (7th) at Wisconsin
as well. The man who pumps out Ironman races like other people do
Sprints, had a few problems on the run and had to slow down
significantly on the second half of the marathon. SLS3 athlete
Jessica Jacobs found race day even more difficult, and it wasn't her
day at all. Nevertheless she still finished 9th and did not give up
the fight.
Next up on the agenda for a lot of SLS3 athletes:
Kona, Hawaii.
Nautica Malibu Triathlon
On the same weekend as IM Wisconsin Becky Lavelle had
some fun on a celebrity relay at the awesome Nautica Malibu
Triathlon and in her individual race where she came a close second
to Laura Bennett.
